SPX 2003: Forlorn Funnies For my third and final recommendation from SPX 2003 (as I don't want to monopolize the Storyblog), check out the elegant and gently touching work of Paul Hornschemeier. His books and posters are an exquisite wonder to behold, but Mother, Come Home, the sad, beautiful story currently being told in his Forlorn Funnies series is an absolute must-read. It's about a father and a son and the aftermath following the loss of the wife and mother. It's softly tragic, quietly joyful and very, very well done. For copies of any of these, go harass your local comic shop! | |||||
