Got a site of your own? Looking for inspiration? There are more and more projects out there devoted to putting a theme out into the world for you to riff on. The Friday Five gives you five questions every Friday to answer on your own site. Theme Thursday lists a new theme every Thursday. This or That asks ten questions every Tuesday. And there's lots more out there.

I think the popularity of these projects reinforces the importance of shared story spaces online. Even in the age of blogs, where just about anyone can post just about anything at just about any time, it's still important to tell stories in a group. We humans crave that feeling of commonality, togetherness.

And, of course, that's what {fray} is for, too. When I see all those stories come together around a single question, the chorus is stronger than the voices alone. The common space survives, even with the proliferation of solo personal pages. After all, doesn't a city need homes and parks?
