Stories from Appalachia
Posted by Derek at 8:29AM

I was born in Memphis, Tennessee, to parents from New York. I was only there until I was 6, so I don't have many memories of the place. One thing I do remember was our neighbor, Buck, who had a southern accent so think, we'd get stuck in these conversational loops, where he'd say something, and I'd say "What?" and he'd say sonething, and I'd say....

I couldn't help thinking of Buck after meeting Jerry Harmon, who calls himeself an "authentic Appalachian mountain storyteller," and listening to his stories (especially this one).
