Voices from the Thirties The Federal Writers' Project of the 1930s recorded more than 10,000 true life stories. The work stories are particularly amazing. For example, meet Chris Thorsten, an iron worker who was laid up for four years after an accident, and says: "You ain't an iron worker unless you get killed." |
