is the Ojibwe word for story, a word that Paula Giese explains carries with it overtones of being measured, thoughtful, observed, and judged. This page on her expansive site collects histories, personal narratives, and contemporary stories of the Native American peoples. She passed away in 1997 but the website lives on gardened occasionally by a kindred spirit Karen Strom.
