It's been six and a half years since I sat down in Photoshop and whipped up the {fray} design. That was 1996. Before the boom. Before the bust. Before falling in and out of love again and again.

And here we were, all these years later, with that same old design. I think fray.com could win an award for the longest-running, continuously-updated web magazine without a redesign. But that ends today.

Welcome to the new {fray}, same as the old {fray}. This is just the beginning – we'll be spiffing the place up over the next few months. Don't worry, our devotion to true, personal stories won't change. Mostly we're adding stuff.

In this space, starting soon, will be storyblog, a daily feed of links to interesting personal stories across the web. We'll also be giving our sister site, fray.org, a proper home here on the dotcom. And there's more in store.
