Fray Day 8 LA: Steve Robinson Featured
Posted by Anderson on Sunday 26 September 04 @ 2:48PM

The illegitimate son of a famous radio star and a one-time FBI operative, Mr. Robinson has been described, by himself, as a philanthropist, explorer and humanitarian---all on a limited scale---and by some of the women he’s dated as a “longshot.”

An admitted heterosexual, Mr. Robinson has been a stand-up/performance dilettante for nearly fourteen (14) or several years, nurturing characteristics of agoraphobia, alcoholism and misanthropy into stories that have amused crowds of tens.

In order to bang his head against the performing-arts wall, Mr. Robinson came to Hollywood from an hedonistic life in South Lake Tahoe, where his community-theater roles included Biff, the even-more disturbed brother in “Death of a Salesman”; and two minor, non-singing roles in “Gypsy,” during which he became briefly involved with the woman playing the stripper Miss Mazeppa, who in real life was a librarian. He also appeared in a promotional film with Nancy Sinatra in the 1960s hot-rod epic “For Those Who Think Young”; and on the very last episode of the game show “Split Second,” for which he won a car because he won the game, but couldn’t come back to try again for the car, because the show was canceled. Mr. Robinson hates pets and enjoys sorting pornography by assumed theme and predominant background color. His favorite movie is “Amazing Grace and Chuck.” Well, at least in the top 10.
