Paul and I crossed the Golden Gate that afternoon. We spent the three and a half hours wandering the streets of Haight-Ashbury.
I took a picture of Paul on the front stoop of 710 Ashbury Street, the house where the Grateful Dead once lived.
We supped at an Ethiopian Restaurant on Haight Street and pondered the proper etiquette for eating Ethiopian food.
After dinner, we rested our feet on a grassy hill across from the restaurant. Paul smoked a bowl in broad daylight while I dozed by his side.
And then just before sunset, we found ourselves on Baker Beach.
